April 21, 2023 —The Siuslaw Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society held its Early Spring Flower Show last weekend. Because of a high number of days with freezing temperatures and hail this spring there were fewer than half the usual number of blooms entered this year but enthusiasm was not dampened as members of the Rhododendron Society worked hard to host a lively event regardless of the adverse conditions. In addition to rhododendron blooms, bonsai trees were also featured.

Next up for flower fans is the Rhododendron Days Flower Show on May 20 and 21, also at the Florence Events Center.
